MKS Instruments HPS Division Series 325 Moducell Pirani Analog Transducer
The HPSâ„¢ Series 325 Moducell provides reliable and inexpensive measurement of vacuum. A combined sensor and electronic unit, the Moducell is compact and east to use.
The 325 Moducell pressure measurement is based on the transfer of heat from a wire in the sensor to the surrounding gases; the current required to maintain the wire at a constant temperature is directly related to the thermal conductivity and pressure of the gases present. The Moducell then converts this current to a usable high-level analog voltage output, without the need for a separate dedicated electronic readout/controller. Special temperature compensation circuitry provides for greater sensor stability over the operating range. More accurate than a thermocouple sensor, the Pirani Sensor measures over a wider pressure range and responds more rapidly to your process pressure changes.
The Moducell is designed and constructed for the most demanding applications. A platinum filament ensures compatibility with a wide array of process gases. Only UHV compatible materials are exposed to vacuum. Its sturdy design and ability to efficiently operate in harsh environments provide you with fast, dependable and stable pressure measurement.
The Series 325 Pirani Analog Transducer consists of the sensor portion of a Series 315 Pirani gauge and an electronic module. The 325 vacuum transducer is ideal for the vacuum system designer, providing space-saving, wide-range pressure measurement at a low cost.
Like all thermal conductivity sensors, the Pirani Sensor is innately gas-type sensitive. This feature makes it a simple solution for locating medium leaks in vacuum systems. It complements a mass spectrometer leak detector, which is more efficient in finding smaller leaks.
The Moducell has a relay setpoint standard for process control that can be set to trip anywhere within its set point range. Set point activation status is shown with LED indicator.
