Info on the machine from Voorwood's website:L85 Surface Foiler uses dry transfer finish technology. The L85 applies finish on panels up to two feet in width(24"). You can finish doors, cabinet side panels, furniture tops and other items needing an inexpensive, and low labor costing finish on cut to size parts. The L85 is the most widely used dry transfer flat finisher for plaques in the award business today. Red silicone rolls transfer the heat from the oven into the foil, reactivating the hot melt adhesive for a superior woodgrain, solid color, or even marble finish. The silicone roll gives even pressure over the full surface of the mdf part, even in the peaks and small valleys (board thickness variables). The L85 is flexible enough to flat foil embossed or routed flat surfaces giving a custom look. We would be glad to work project costs with you to see if dry transfer foil is cost efficient for you.
