LAYFAYETTE TE-50 TUBE TESTER IN WORKING CONDITION
This is a used Layfayette TE-50 tube tester. It comes in a vinyl carry case which is still in pretty good condition. The tester is actually very clean. Switches are stiff but all work, dials turn smoothly, tube sockets are still tight. The tube chart is mounted on a tray that slides into the bottom of the tester. Unit was tried with a variety of known condition tubes and seems to work. It is shown testing a NOS 6AU6A and giving an appropriate reading.
This is the tester for the tech/tube user that just needs a quick check on a tube for troubleshooting. It tests for shorts, leakage and emission. Not intended for the high tech uses of trying to match tubes or measure transconductance. But for its intended purpose, it is a great little compact tester that will check most tubes used for current audio applications. Also comes with the plate cap wire.
