Removes Submicronic Particles for Ultra Clean Air
In a typical 100 psig air system, 72% by weight of the oil aerosols present are less then 5 microns in size. 50% are below 1 micron in size. Droplets of this size pass through a mechanical separator. Air line filters (e.g. a 5 micron particulate filter) cannot trap the bulk of the aerosols. Kaeser coalescent type Oil Mist Eliminators have been specifically designed to remove these oil aerosols down to 0.5 ppm w/w.
Advanced Filter Bed Technology
Compressed air is directed through a loosely packed bed of highly engineered, water resistant glass fibers. Water droplets and oil aerosols entrained in the air stream are captured by fibers through the mechanisms of direct interception, inertial impaction, and interception resulting from Bownian motion. The captured particles move along the fibers and coalesce into large droplets that gravitate to the bottom of the cartridge. Here they fall into an oversized quiet zone in the bottom of the housing and are discharged from the system by automatic drain trap (optional).
