This is a piece of 1/2x4x18 A-2 oversize ground stock manufactured by the Precision -Kidd steel company.
A-2 ground flat stock is made from fine grain, electric furnace air-hardening, 5% chrome tool steel. It is a superior quality steel which has excellent wear and abrasion resistance properties. Air-true's low sulphur content makes it non-freemachining.
This piece of 1/2x4x18 A-2 comes oversize which means on the thickness and width, it runs from +.010/.015", and on the length it runs from +.125/.250"
