The first edition of the Karlebo handbook came out in 1936. The intention behind it was to provide the technical colleges with a Swedish textbook on workshop practice, which could also be used by industry as a reference guide, since both sectors badly needed this type of book. It describes the fundamental principles of mechanics, thermology, strength of materials and electrical theory. The book also covers areas such as materials science, mechanical components, machining practice, foundry practice, joining methods, metal finishing and production systems. A general technical handbook which is informative and useful reading, even if you do not work in these areas.
