This unit has a small battery board that holds a permanently affixed clock/time battery. Since the bad battery is permanently affixed to the board, the whole board must be replaced. The replacement board (AH261096) uses coin-cell replaceable lithium batteries, so future battery replacements can be easily done. Eurotherm Chessell sells the replacement board and the kit for changing the battery board (A261398) which contains full instructions.
The recorder can be disassembled into the front and back sections. The front section includes the video screen and video card chassis. The back section includes the I/O board, the battery board, and the power supply. The latch handle that you raise to unlock the front section from the back section is broken. (See picture.) The front section still separates cleanly from the back section, but the handle does not lock the two sections together properly.
