LUBRICATION ENGINEERS 3083 ALMASHIELD OPEN GEAR LUBRICANT
Tacky Thick Brown EP 3 Water-Resistant Grease. 3083 ALMASHILED is a heavy, water resistant, light colored grease for all open gears. It contains ALMASOL, LE’s exclusive wear-reducing additive which reduces wear and prevents metal-to-metal contact between gear or other metal-to-metal surfaces. This lubricant has excellent low temperature pumping characteristics. It is an NLGI Grade 3, which provides added film strength for greater protection of open gears and working surfaces. It contains no harmful metallic additives.
3083 has excellent lubricating qualities with wear protection even under heavy loads. It stays in place and will not wash off and is highly versatile. With a dropping point of 350 °F (177 °C), 3083 offers excellent temperature stability. 3083 is easily applied using an LE open gear grease gun, conventional gun, paddle or brush even at temperatures well below 0 °F. Because of ALMASOL's wear reducing characteristics, it has a long effective service life. 3083 will stay clean longer and will not collect airborne contaminants as quickly as residual products or liquid lubricants.
3083 ALMASHIELD Open Gear Lubricant is recommended for open gears, fifth wheels, mobile equipment, stationary equipment, chains and cables. This product is very useful for open gears on machine cutting tools using water based cutting fluids. 3083 offers better protection for precision gears because a thin film is adequate. There are no heavy residues fill spaces and force misalignments. Avoid using this product in electric motors and other applications with low starting torque.
