2 pounds of low-gloss black / matt black powder coating. The chemical composition is urethane polyester, a blend of urethane and polyester. This powder is made in the USA. According to the manufacturer, this particular powder is very popular with the automakers and their OEM suppliers. Automotive hobbyists and restorers will like this powder for brackets, pulleys, hinges and many other underhood parts and other car parts. This is virgin powder, not recycled or reclaimed powder.
Chemistry: Urethane Polyester "Urethane"
Gloss: Approx 8% Gloss @ 60 degrees (ASTM D-523-94)
Recommended bake: 20 minutes at 385 degrees Fahrenheit metal temperature (or 10 min @ 400 deg F metal temperature).
Exterior durability. Excellent UV resistance. Well suited for exposure to sunlight and outdoor use.
Theoretical coverage: Approx. 120 Sq Ft per pound at 1.0 mil thickness.
Contains no heavy metals. VOC (volatile organic compounds) essentially zero.

Here's a brief summary of the properties of the most common types of powders available. Please note that this is a general guideline only.
Epoxy - Poor UV resistance, epoxy powder coating should not be exposed to sunlight. Generally used for buried pipes or as a primer. Excellent corrosion resistance. Excellent hardness. Excellent chemical resistance.
Hybrid (Epoxy-Polyester) - Slightly better UV resistance than Epoxy, but hybrid powder coating is not intended for outdoor use or for applications where exposure to sunlight is possible. Very good corrosion protection. Very good hardness. Good chemical resistance.
Polyester - Good hardness. Good corrosion protection. Excellent UV resistance for outdoor use. Good chemical resistance.
Urethane - Excellent UV resistance for outdoor use. Very good corrosion protection. Good chemical resistance.
We use dual 4 mil thick resealable poly bags (thick plastic 'zip-lock' type bags) for 8 mils of protection.
