These manuals cover operations, maintenance and servicing of the Tektronix 647 Oscilloscope. They are scanned from the original manufacturer's manuals. The scans came out well, and all information available in the original manuals is available here. There is the full manufacturer's Service Manual, plus an excellent Technical Training Workbook that was used in classes on the 647.
Two PDFs of each manual are provided, in two resolutions. One is:
Text with Drawings at 600dpi black and white or grayscale (content-dependent)
Schematics at 600dpi black and white or grayscale (content-dependent)
Text with photos at 600dpi (minimum) grayscale with contrast adjusted
Schematics, overlays with color coding (if any) at 600dpi 256 colors (minimum)
The other PDF set is done in resolutions that vary depending on individual page content, but are never higher than needed to produce a useable quality, quickly navigable file that will do the job without consuming more time and resources than are needed.
Also, we include a "foldouts.pdf" with the A3 (11x17") foldout pages from the manual scanned full-size (one piece). Please note that the foldout pages are ALSO included as A4 scans (sectioned as 8.5 x 11" pages, in other words) in the "main" manual for ease of printing.
We send you both both resolutions on the CD. You'll receive the large files, plus the smaller, faster text-searchable versions, plus the A3 "foldouts" file. That way, you can navigate, search and etceteras with the fast file and only use the large files when you want to print. There's no need to clutter up your drives with the hundreds of megabytes of files, nor any need to spend time writing them to and from the hard drive if you aren't the sort who likes to waste space. Yet the extra-large PDFs are still provided for when you need exceptional print quality. All original manual pages are supplied in both resolutions of both books, with no pages added or subtracted.
The "main" or "very high resolution" manuals have both the chapter-page numbering system ("electronic manual page numbers match paper manual page numbers") and the sequential (logical) page numbering system. The very high resolution service manual version is fully bookmarked and hyperlinked, for those folk who like that, and of course the smaller, faster version is text-searchable as well as having the bookmarking, hyperlinking and versatile page numbering schemes. The Tech Notes publication PDFs are bookmarked and have the dual page numbering systems (there were really no indexes to hyperlink).
