Novitas automatic light control with switchpack

Automatic lighting control for corridors and
• Adjustable sensitivity control.
• Crystal-controlled for accuracy.
• Combines with a Novitas Switchpack.
The 01-092 is a motion sensor which controls lighting and other
electrical loads automatically based on the presence or absence of
people. Designed specifically for use in corridors and warehouse
aisles, the Sensor activates a Novitas® Switchpack to turn loads on
The Sensor produces a low intensity, inaudible sound. It detects
changes in the acoustic waves caused by motion, such as walking
into a corridor or driving a forklift in warehouse aisles. The Sensor
does not respond to audible sound. When the Sensor detects motion,
relays in all connected Switchpacks are closed and lights are turned
on. If no motion occurs within a preset period of time, lights are turned
off. To ensure continuous light while people are present, the time
delay can be set from 15 seconds (for installer testing) to 30 minutes.
• Bi-directional design maximizes coverage in long, narrow
• Manual override switch allows the load to be turned on quickly and
easily should a Sensor ever fail. No tool necessary.
• Snap-out circuit board allows fast, easy replacement without
affecting hard wiring or mounting.
• Adjustable sensitivity control provides full corridor/aisle coverage;
avoids activation from motion in a cross-aisle.
• Ceiling mount permits optimum location of Sensors and reduces
tampering. Fixed angle position makes installation fast and
accurate. No swivel to adjust. No accidental change in coverage.
• Multiple frequencies enable separate control of adjacent areas.
• Crystal control provides consistent and stable performance.
Frequency variations will not exceed +0.005 percent.
• Up to ten Switchpacks can be controlled in a single lighting zone.
• Teflon insulated pigtails are fire rated for ceiling plenums.
Corridors: When mounted 10’ above the floor, one B Frequency
Sensor covers approximately 96’ in a 13.5’ wide corridor, while a
Frequency A Sensor covers approximately 100’ in a 14’ wide corridor.
Add additional Sensors to increase coverage.
The NEMA WD 7 Guide and robotic method were utilized to verify
Warehouse Aisles: When mounted 21’ above the floor, one standard
B Frequency Sensor will detect approximately 58’ of walking motion
and 96’ of forklift motion in a 9.5’ wide aisle. An A Frequency Sensor
will detect approximately 60’ of walking motion and 100’ of forklift
General: Multiple Sensors may be used for long corridors and aisles.
Five Sensors may be connected to each Switchpack. Use additional
Switchpacks where more Sensors are required. Range and coverage
may vary slightly, depending on corridor shape and acoustics.
1. Switchpack shall supply 15 VDC to operate up to five Sensors.
2. Switchpack shall be operable from either 120 or 277 VAC circuits.
3. Relay contacts shall have ratings of:
