18X18 heat exchanger for use with outdoor wood furnace

This heat exchanger measures 18"x18" on the fin surface. If you measure to the outside of the mounting brackets it will measure 18 1/4"x 20". The normal way of installing these is to let the 1" flanges on the ends stick out of your plenum, giving you the most are possible for heat transfer. They are 3 1/2" thick. The connections are 1" copper sweat, but can be ordered for a small extra charge as threaded or pex. All of our duct coils have 13 fins per inch.
When ordering a heat exchanger always try to get one that is the largest size available that will fit in your plenum. This is especially true for outdoor wood furnaces because may of them do not always run at full temperature and the more surface area the better they will heat, even when water temperatures are not up to what they should be. Also BTU ratings change depending on air flow, water flow, and water temperature. You will always want to use the largest possible size.
